These are the maximum meter rates in the city code: $3.00 for the first 1/9 mile, then $0.50 for each further 2/9 mile ($2.25 per mile), and $0.50 per minute of waiting time. The hourly rate is $30 per hour or the meter fare, whichever is greater.
Each company files its own rate schedule with the city and may charge less than the maximum. Trips to destinations outside Franklin County are agreed with the driver but may not exceed $2.25 per one-way mile.
